Government and FARC announced measures to reduce hostilities in Colombia
The government of Juan Manuel Santos will implement measures to reduce the intensity of the military actions of its security forces from July 20, when the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) will begin a unilateral ceasefire announced on last Wednesday.

This was reported on Sunday by a joint statement of the negotiating table in Havana, Cuba, where both sides hold peace talks since 2012 to try to end an internal conflict for over 50 years.

The chief government negotiator, Humberto de la Calle, said that the Colombian state will adopt appropriate de-escalation measures, which in turn depends on the FARC.
